A homegoing service for PFC Preston Antonio ?Tony? Brown, 21, of Columbia will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, February 3, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors and interment to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Brown also known to his military battle buddies as ?Pops Brown?, was the son of Preston Brown and Stephanie Whetstone Caldwell. ?Tony? was born on June 3, 1990 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a 2008 graduate of Lower Richland High School and he also attended Midlands Technical College. PFC Brown was an active duty soldier in the United States Army stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. ?Tony? was a loving and caring person who always kept a smile on his face and the faces of others. PFC Brown passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at University Medical Center, El Paso, Texas. PFC Brown is survived by his father; mother; sister, Shandrea Houser; brother, Clarence Houser, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Judy Brim; maternal grandmother, Helen Whetstone; maternal great grandmother, Verzell Whetstone; four uncles, Reggie Brown, James Brown, Anthony Whetstone, Christopher Whetstone ; one aunt, Regina Fernandez; and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
