Obituary of Rita Goodwin

Rita Goodwin GASTON—Visitation for friends and family of Rita Goodwin, 80, of Gaston, will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, both at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens. Ms. Goodwin, widow of Samuel L. Goodwin, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Winton Keaton. Ms. Goodwin was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, old movies, and she was a loving mother. Surviving Ms. Goodwin are her daughter; Carol Turner (Don) of Irmo, SC, Son; John Goodwin of Gaston, SC, grandchildren; Cheryl and Tanya Goodwin and sister; Sylvia Cannon of Columbia, SC. She was preceded in death by her son; David Goodwin.
