Obituary of Kevin Phillips

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Kevin Daryl Phillips, 48, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Kurt Geib. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. immediately following service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to River Bluff Baptist Church, 100 Old State Rd., Cayce, SC 29033. Mr. Phillips made a peaceful transition from this life into eternal life on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Born November 26, 1963, in Adana, Turkey, he was the son of the late Carl J. Phillips and Patricia Ann Morgan Phillips. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School in 1981; and served in the U.S. Army for eight years. Kevin was employed by CMC Steel of Cayce for 15 plus years. He was a dedicated member of River Bluff Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife Lisa "Honey" Martin Phillips of 12 years; and his loving grandchild, Austin Ray Balzer, whom he was guardian of; sisters, Mrs. Carla Leyland (Larry), niece, Cheryl and great niece, Emma; sister, Ms. Rhonda Phillips; brother, Mr. Alan Phillips and niece Sarah Phillips Allen; Kevin's children are: Daryl Phillips (Amanda) and children, Kevin Phillips, Jr. (Ashley) and children, Ann Phillips and child, Crystal Phillips, Felisha Balzer and children, Jennifer Pridgen and children, Rachel Etheredge and children and Jon Marc Pridgen. Special mentions of Kevin's father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Donald W.
