Obituary of Sally Smith

West Columbia: Graveside services for Sally Priester Smith, 98, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Saluda River Baptist Church, 3459 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Born in Beech Island, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Counts Priester and Carrie Elizabeth Deer Priester. Mrs. Smith was a resident of Warrior, AL and moved to West Columbia in 1995. She was a member of the Federated Woman's Club in Birmingham, AL. Surviving is her sister Ethlene P. Hallman; stepdaughter, Shirley Smith; stepson, Wayne Smith; nieces, Marie D. Brant and Diane Freeman; and nephew, Dwight A. Deer. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Smith; daughter, Dorothy Clayton, stepson, Leroy Smith; and sister, Annie P. Deer. The family has selected Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia to assist them with services.
