Obituary of Zona Winburn

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Zona Gail Winburn, 83, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Ed Lynch and Pastor John Huffman. Entombment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of S.C., 520 Gervais St., Ste. 300, Columbia, SC 29201. Mrs. Winburn, widow of Burnard Winburn, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012. Born in Swansea, SC, she was a daughter of the late Richard Bunyan Lawson and Viola Lawson. She was a member of Swansea First Baptist Church. Surviving are: her daughters, Diane Denny (Allen) of West Columbia and Beverly Worley (Phillip) of Greenville; sister, Wauleska L. Taylor (Duman) of Swansea; three grandchildren, Andy Lynch, Kimberly Mann and Tiffany Ballington; and seven great grandchildren, William, Andrew, Lawson, Autumn, Tanner, Emily, and Connor; also one great great grandchild, Andrew. Mrs. Winburn was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters._ Mrs. Winburn was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
