Obituary of Mary Posey

SPRINGDALE—Mary Ann Posey, 72, of Springdale passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC. Born in Chapin, SC on July 27, 1939, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late K. Amos and Agnes Arnold Posey. She was preceded in death by brothers, Howard D. and Ferrell H. Posey and sister, Janelle Posey Byrd. Mary Ann graduated from Columbia Business College and was long time accountant at Berry's on Main and Shakespeare in Columbia, SC. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church in West Columbia. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special sister in Christ, Nancy Smith. Mary Ann loved to travel and was a regular member of the Lexington County Senior Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1 p.m. at West Side Baptist Church, 2100 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia will be assisting the family.
