Obituary of Ralph Harrell

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Ralph Edward Harrell, 84, will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Fellowship Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Don Bell. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m. prior to service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund, 4238 Augusta Rd., Lexington, SC 29073. Mr. Harrell passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012. Born, January 9, 1928, in Florence County, SC, he was a son of the late Joseph Hepburn Harrell and Ida Vida Hewitt Harrell. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon; and was a member of Lexington Masonic Lodge, #152 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Mr. Harrell was retired from Republic Contractors (Bridge Building). Survivors are: daughters Barbara Watford (Harold) of Maggie Valley, NC and Wynna Fulwood (Darwin) of Gaston, SC; son, Hepburn Harrell (Annie) of West Columbia; sister, Janie Merrill of Lexington; brothers, Dargan Harrell of Brandon, FL and Tommy Hill of Goldsboro, NC; 11 grandchildren, Tim Harrell (Kristie), Mark Harrell (Courtney), Matt Watford (Chrissy), Adam Watford (Gina) and Noah Watford, Stephanie Glover (Jamie), Shelley Paradise, Berley Harrell, Josh Fulwood (Megan), Caleb Fulwood, Sr. (April) and Jordan Fulwood (Chelsea); also 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his wife, Nathel S. Harrell, a son, Steven Harrell, daughter, Jeannie Harrell; 3 sisters, 6 brothers, and 2 great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Harmony Hospice and his caregivers, Donna Cooley, Amanda Hoffkins, Betty Jackson, Hattie Jenkins, Amanda Long, Kim McDonald, and Janice Shull.
