Obituary of Lois Ross Jeffcoat

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Lois Estelle Ross Jeffcoat, 97, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Green Hill Baptist Church. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to Green Hill Baptist Church, Shut In Ministry, P.O. Box 6276, West Columbia, SC 29171. Thompson Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Jeffcoat, widow of Otis C. Jeffcoat, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012. Born in Blaney, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence David Ross and Nannie V. Brown Ross. She was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Becknell Cleaners. Mrs. Jeffcoat was previously very active in the church; she was in the choir, a GA counselor, worked in the nursery, and was also a member of the Jubilant Singers and Gold Band Sunday School Class. She was also a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors are her daughters, Sylvia J. Shealy (Charles) of West Columbia and Phyllis Holstein (Jeff) of North; a son, Charles G. Jeffcoat (Jane) of Lake Murray; three grandchildren, Terri Kowaleski, Laura Stroman Lee (Sean) and Heather Jeffcoat Leszcz (Mike); also five great grandchildren. Mrs. Jeffcoat was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
