Obituary of Claud Duval

COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Claud Wesley Duval, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Ed Lynch. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lowman Home, P.O. Box 144, White Rock, SC 29177. Mr. Duval, widower of Betty Herring Duval and Willie Bledsoe Duval, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. Born in Birmingham, AL, he was a son of the late William P. Duval and Ella M. Alley Duval. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 - 1947. Mr. Duval retired from Southern Bell in 1985; and was a member of CWA and ATT Pioneers. He loved traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors are his daughter: Sharon Duval Kerr of Chapin and son, Rick Duval of West Columbia; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mr. Duval was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Duval and Jimmy Duval. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage at Lowman and Lutheran Hospice for the loving care they provided Daddy during his stay.
