Obituary of ALLEN MARKS

Allen Dale Marks, aged 59 of Gaston, South Carolina died after an extended illness on Saturday, May 19, 2012. Mr. Marks was born on February 28, 1953 in Columbia, SC. He was the son of the late Marion E. (Buddy) Marks, Sr. of Columbia, SC and Lureen Hughes Marks of Gaston, SC. A graduate of Dreher High School, he attended the University of South Carolina and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Marks was employed as a computer systems engineer. Survivors include his mother Lureen Hughes Marks; brothers, Marion E. Marks, Jr., and Hugh B. Marks (Gayle P. Marks) of Gaston, SC; and a sister, Andrea L. Marks of Gaston, SC. He is also survived by Ronald G. Gilmore (Rachel W. Gilmore) of Summerville, SC. A graveside service with military honors will be held for Mr. Marks at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. Dr. Larry Harrison of First Baptist Church in Gaston, SC will be officiating. Greenlawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
