Obituary of Carroll Lorick

WEST COLUMBIA: Carroll Eugene (Legs) Lorick of West Columbia, SC, passed away May 21, 2012 after several years of declining health. He was the son of Wade & Mary Frick Lorick, and a lifetime resident of Lexington County. A graduate of Brookland Cayce High School, he was involved in youth sports in Lexington County for over 25 years. In partnership with his brother, John, they were owners/operators of Lorick's Antiques & Auction House in Pomaria, SC. Carroll was proud of the fact that he was one of the first auctioneer's of antiques in the state of South Carolina. Carroll was a hard working man, with a great sense of humor, who dearly loved his family, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claudette Chavis Lorick; sons, Steve Lorick of Lexington, and Rodney Lorick (Felicia) of West Columbia; sister, Margie Howell (John) of Cayce; three adored grandchildren, Michael Lorick, Savanna Lorick and Logan Lorick. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Lorick Hutto, brothers, John Lorick and Clyde Lorick. Visitation for Mr. Lorick will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. At Carroll's request there will be a simple graveside service to be held at Southland Memorial Gardens, Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend J. Wayne Smith, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris, Greenville, SC 29605.
