Obituary of Mary Dunlap Barkley

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Dunlap Barkley, 62, of West Columbia, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Mr. Russell Laird. Interment will be held at 12 noon in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Barkley, beloved wife of Jack Henry Barkley, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Born in Moore County, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Burrell Dunlap and Madie Lucindi Crisco Dunlap. Surviving in addition to her husband, Jack Henry Barkley of West Columbia; daughters, Emma Ruth Barkley of West Columbia and Susan Lavern Bulger (Mike) of DeFuniak Springs, FL; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother, David Lamar Barkley of Sumter; sister-in-law, Alice Dunlap of Seagrove, NC.
