Obituary of Laura Fouche

COLUMBIA, VA—Laura June Tomon Fouche of Columbia, VA went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, Antoni and Katrina Tomon; her husband, James Robert Fouche, seven brothers and sisters, and a great grandson. She was born on August 11, 1916 and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and was a first-generation American. She served in the US Army and Navy during World War II. She met her future husband in California during the war - she was from Ohio and he was from South Carolina. She is survived by a brother Henry Toman (Pauline) of Fort Lauderdale, Fla; five children: Susan Lascolette of Columbia, VA. James Robert "Bobby" Fouche of Chester, VA, Doris McKenzie (Richard) of Columbia, VA, Betty DeHart of Columbia, VA and Donald Fouche of Irmo, SC; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was a most amazing woman, wife and mother and was greatly beloved for her wit, kindness and charity. All services are private except the graveside service at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Columbia, SC on Sunday, May 27th at 2:00 PM.
