Obituary of Carrie Hall Spurlock

GASTON: Services for Carrie Lou Hall Spurlock, 88, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Reverend Grover Williams and Reverend Donald Jeffcoat. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Spurlock, widow of John William Spurlock, went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 8, 2012. Born in Gilbert, SC, she was a daughter of the late Brice Hall and Myrtis Oswald Hall. She was a member of the Wayside Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Wateree Baptist Church. Mrs. Spurlock worked throughout the state in Textile Mills. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a loving wife for 45 years. Survivors include her daughters, Dianne Chestnut (Bruce) of Gaston, Phyllis Ellisor (Ronald) of Lexington and Daphney Boone of Virginia; sisters, Irene Smith, Earlene Swygert (Melvin) and half-sister, Mary Jane Palmer all of Leesville; brothers, Brent Hall, Ralph Hall (Becky) of Leesville; and Clifton Hall (Mimi) of Saluda; half brothers, George and Gene Smith of Leesville; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mrs. Spurlock was preceded in death by sons, Jerald W. Spurlock (Marion), Randall Spurlock and Michael Kenneth Spurlock; brothers, James Brice Hall, Jr., and Truitt Hall; and son-in-law, Jack Boone.
