Obituary of L.L. CONNELLY

L.L. ?Bing? Connelly Columbia, SC Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, L.L. ?Bing? Connelly passed away June 11, 2012. Bing was born August 6, 1921 to the late William H. Connelly and Leila B. Connelly in Olar, S.C., but was raised in Beaufort. Bing served in the United States Army, serving in WWII while stationed in the Phillipines. He retired from the S.C. State Tax Commission after 20+ years of service as a warrant officer. Bing was a champion bowler. He was inducted into the Columbia Bowlers Hall of Fame. His passion was fishing with his pal, Miller, or anyone, and always, Bing caught the most and the biggest fish. Even the biggest fish feared Bing Connelly! Bing is predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris R. Connelly. He is survived by daughter, Linda (Fred) Riddle of Columbia; son, Richard ?Buddy? (Nancy) Connelly of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Stephanie (Keith) Howell, Allison (Matt) Timmons, Gretchen (Mark) Tillman, Jennifer (Dwayne) Dailey, Kristen (Andy) Oliver, Jessica Connelly; 11 great-grandchildren; and special family friends, Billie and Mary Boyd. Special thanks to Mary Ann Gay for the love and special care she gave to our dad. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:30 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209. Service celebrating the life of L.L. ?Bing? Connelly will be held at 2:30 pm in the Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
