Obituary of Lillie Griffin

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Lillie Bell Griffin, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. John Lastinger, Jr. Interment will follow at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Griffin, widow of Burl Griffin, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Born in Saluda, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Clifton Brown and Sudie Pam Busbee Brown. She was a member of the New Covenant Christian Church. Mrs. Griffin was a loving grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, mother and wife. Surviving are: her daughters, Eileen Landa and Brenda Lollis of West Columbia; sons, Charlie Dyches (Kim) of West Columbia, Ronnie Griffin of California, Gene Griffin (Sachiko) of Alabama and Bo Griffin (Beth) of West Columbia; sisters, Valnie Shealy and Barbara Jean Gates of Lexington, Joyce Keen of Florida and Frances Henderson of Tennessee; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her son, Johnnie Dyches, son-in-law, Robert Landa and sisters, Mae Lyon and Myrtle Brown.
