Obituary of Arthur Roberts

LEXINGTON: Graveside service for Arthur Lavon Roberts, Sr., 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Otis Lee. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, prior to the service. Mr. Roberts passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Born in Richland County, SC, he was a son of the late Archie Colie Roberts, Sr., and Lula Mae Evans Roberts. He served his country in the U.S. Navy; and was self-employed as an upholsterer. Surviving is: his loving wife, Carolyn Elizabeth Roberts; daughter, Betty Mae Roberts; and son, Johnny Roberts all of Lexington; brother, Allan Roberts of Elgin and Lewis Roberts of Cocoa Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Danny, Blake, Amber, James, Jacob, Jordyn, Christopher and Chloe Roberts; and one great grandchild, Noah Lavon Roberts. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Lavon Roberts, Jr., and two brothers, Colie Roberts and Alfred Roberts.
