Obituary of James Rector

WEST COLUMBIA—James D. Rector, 64, of West Columbia, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012. He was born in Knoxville, TN and was the son of the late Lloyd George Rector and Anna Mae Hamby Rector. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Campaign Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960 Bar). He was a loving husband that enjoyed fishing, music and telling a good story or joke. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Rector and three daughters, Jennifer Rector of Knoxville, TN, Mandy Neff (Scott) and Candy McGee (Robert Townson) and six beautiful grandchildren. A private gathering will be held for family and friends at the Rector home.
