Mr. Oswald died Thursday, July 12, 2012 after a brief illness. Born in Columbia, SC., he was the son of the late William D. and Melissie Oswald. A local resident for his entire life, he was a member of Lexington Church of God. Mr. Oswald retired from the wholesale and retail car business after over 40 years in business. He was well known and respected in the car sales community. Many people looked to Ken for advice regarding their vehicle questions and needs. Ken loved his wife and children more than life itself. He fathered only two children, but was a father figure to many. It was not uncommon to have a house full of kids. "George" as he was fondly called, always tried to make the best of everything. He worked hard to ensure his family had everything they needed. He accepted people as they were, and respected everyone he met. Surviving are his wife Judy Oswald; his daughter, Lisa Altman (Timothy) of Lexington; his son Kenneth Oswald, Jr. of Cayce; three step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren; brothers, Billy Oswald, Sr. of Swansea, James Oswald, Sr. of Lancaster and William Oswald, Jr. of Lexington. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. and Melissie Oswald and one brother, Robert Oswald, Sr.
