Obituary of Robert Bettinger

Robert ?Bob? L. Bettinger, 67, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, he was the son of the late Worden and Grace Montgomery Bettinger. He was a graduate of USC (Cum Laude) and was an avid Gamecock fan. He was a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Society and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Mr. Bettinger retired from Moncrief Army Hospital where he worked as a laboratory technologist. He also retired from the United States Air Force Reserves as a Master Sergeant. He is survived by his sisters, Frances (Jimmy) Neeley and Debbie (Roy) Backman. Also, nephews, Bryan (Lolita) Neeley, Justin (Alicia) Neeley), Jeff (Holly) Backman & a niece, Margaret (Tommy) Hook; seven adoring great nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank friends and neighbors, Jack, Rand, David, and Gee Gee who provided support during his illness. Graveside services for Robert ?Bob? L. Bettinger will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday , July 28, 2012 in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Shay Long officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to be made to Mill Creek Methodist Church in Robert?s memory.
