Obituary of Chester Kishline

Chester ?Chet? G. Kishline, 88, of West Columbia, SC, departed his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Chet was born in Evansville, Indiana, on March 30, 1924 to Arch A. and Selma H. Kishline. Chet was predeceased by his parents, and brothers and sisters, Chestine Kibler (twin), Burl Kishline, Huber Kishline, Donald Kishline, and Katheryn K. Grainger. He is survived by his wife, Doris B. Kishline; his son, Robert G. Kishline (Joan); a brother, Dave Kishline (Faye); many nieces and nephews. Chet graduated from Bosse High School, Evansville, Indiana. Upon graduation he joined the United States Army. He attended Indiana University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Social Fraternity. He completed college at the University of Evansville. Chet was a mason with the Newburgh Lodge #174 in Newburgh, Indiana. During his lifetime, he was a manufacturing representative for International Harvester in Evansville; Southeastern Regional Manager for Chrysler Corporation in Columbia, SC; and Chief Financial Analyst for the SC Department of Insurance, retiring after many years of service. Chet was a loving husband and father, friend to all. He enjoyed tinkering with all things mechanical and especially loved baseball. Chet also enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques. The family will receive friends at Greenlawn Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 with a graveside service to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate the life of Chester ?Chet? G. Kishline. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to the Salvation Army in Chester?s memory. On-line condolences may be sent to www.greenlawn-columbia.com.
