Obituary of Betty Tierce

LEXINGTON: Funeral service for Betty J. Tierce, 80, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Pineview Baptist Church, 3010 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, officiated by Pastor Ken Addison and Pastor Brandon Sandifer. Interment will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Tierce, widow of Billie Gene Tierce, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012. Born and raised in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Bradwell and Viola Blizzard Bradwell. She devoted her life to serving and loving her parents, husband, children, and grandchildren. Mrs. Tierce enjoyed working in her yard, maintaining an immaculate and comfortable home for her family, and was a frequent QVC shopper. Her humor continually entertained her family. Mrs. Tierce instilled a sense of devotion of family unity and togetherness to those she leaves behind. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbia, and she held on to her faith in her Lord until her time on this earth was over. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Lexington Medical Center, 3rd Floor Critical Care Unit for their attentive care and love. Survivors are: daughters, Donna Tierce Vaughn (John) of West Columbia and Teresa Tierce Cribb (Johnny, Jr.) of Lexington; grandchildren, Joseph Kendal Addison of Columbia, Traci Addison Yonce (Jimmy, III) of West Columbia, Cameron Tierce Cribb and Taryn Cassidy Cribb of Lexington; great grandchildren, Addison Lynn Yonce and Landon Mendel Yonce; nieces, Bobbie Neeley Tipton, and Lydia Diane Holly; nephew, Wayne Christopher Neeley; also many loving great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tierce was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Monroe Bradwell and Viola Blizzard Bradwell; her late husband, Billie Gene Tierce; sister, Leila Mae Bradwell and niece, Brenda Neeley Fuller.
