Obituary of Doris Walkup

Doris Roberta "Robbie" Walkup, 68, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Dr., Ste. 301, Cayce, SC 29033. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. Green and Doris Chiarolanza Green. She was retired from Dr.'s Care, Inc. where she had worked as an X-ray technician. Mrs. Walkup was a graduate of Camp LeJune High School in 1961 and graduated from Columbia School of Radiology in 1965. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, Wilburn Terry Walkup of Gilbert; daughters, Denise Bunch (Glen) of Moncks Corner and Dana Christine McManus of Lexington; sister, Phyllis Post of Rogers, AK; three grandchildren, Whitney Danielle Lucas, Sean Collin McManus & Morgan Rileigh McManus; niece, Heather Payton (Tommy) of Rogers, AK; and future son-in-law, Thomas Brown of Lexington.
