Obituary of Ernest Leclerc

Ernest (PK) Joseph Leclerc, 84, Ernie to his friends died on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He was born on January 23, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to Adrian and Laurette Leclerc. He attended primary school in Windsor, Canada. Ernest lived in Canada with his family until joining the U.S. Army in 1945. He married Shigeko (Bonnie) Nakayama on May 22, 1949. He served during 3 wars, World War II, Korea, and The Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Army in 1968 after 23 years of service. Surviving are his sons, Richard A. (Pamela) Leclerc of Atlanta, Georgia, Robert M. (Reni E.) Leclerc, West Virginia: daughters, Ramona Leclerc York, Columbia, SC and Nanette Patricia Leclerc of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas J. Leclerc, Lori Leclerc, Scott J. Leclerc, April Leclerc Depaola, Austin L. Leclerc, Dana Smith, Mariah M. York, Michelle L. York, Athena L. Siokos, George Z Siokos and Elizabeth Jackson; great-grandchildren, Dylan Leclerc, Atticus Leclerc, and Rylen Leclerc Helms; a sister, Noella (Bella) Desmarais of Windsor, Ontario; He was predeceased by his wife, Bonnie; a son, Mitchell; sisters, Lizette, Muriel, Jackie, and Jeanette and his brothers, Scott, jack, and Marcel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors and interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
