Obituary of Lydia McCaskill

SANDY RUN: Funeral services for Lydia Owens McCaskill, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012, at Congaree Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Bill Messer and Reverend David Mullins. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. McCaskill passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Born in Charleston, MS, she was a daughter of the late Jack Owens and Clara Teague Owens. She was a member of Congaree Baptist Church. Mrs. McCaskill was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother who adored her grandsons and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors are: her husband of 50 years, Marvin McCaskill of Sandy Run; son, Monty McCaskill (Sheila) of Gilbert; grandsons, Mitchell and Zachary McCaskill; sisters, Billie Thornton and Shannon O. Wallace of Memphis, TN; brother, Joe Owens (Debbie) of West Columbia; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. McCaskill was preceded in death by brothers, Jack R. Owens and Jimmy Author Owens.
