Obituary of Sue Crapps

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Sue Taylor Crapps, 60, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Ministers, Vaughn Ellingson and Reverend Daniel Farris. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012, at Mountain Park Baptist Church Cemetery, Elkin, NC. Sue Taylor Crapps was called home to rest on August 15, 2012. She was born February 7, 1952. Sue was the daughter of William Dane Taylor and Earline Cockerham Taylor of Thurmond, NC. She died at Duke University Hospital from complications of leukemia. She is survived by her two daughters, Brittany Humphries of Phoenix, Arizona and Dr. BriAnna Schraw of Tega Cay, SC along with her two grandchildren, Jaidon and Kyleigh Schraw. She is also survived by her mother, Earline Cockerham Taylor, her brother, Gary D. Taylor (Becky) and two daughters, Drew Taylor and Lynn Helms, her sister, Kimberly T. Watkins (Robert) and three children, Ben Wales and Eva Watkins. Preceding Sue in death was her husband, Don Wesley Crapps and grandparents, Walter Carl and Eva Cockerham of Thurmond, NC and Andrew and Octavia Taylor of Millers Creek, NC; also Ruth and Earl Crapps of Newberry, SC. Sue resided all her married life in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Surry Central High School in Dobson, NC and received a Bachelors degree from the University of South Carolina in Psychology and Business. She was employed at Asset Realty and had earned her broker's license for North and South Carolina. Sue was a wonderful mother and a terrific grandmother. She was the best sister anyone could ever have and she was a faithful and attentive daughter. She will be greatly mourned by her family and her many friends. Her service to the Father and Jesus Christ was true and faithful until the end.
