Obituary of Charles Doughty

Charles Francis Doughty Columbia, SC Graveside services for Retired, SFC Charles Francis Doughty, 78, of Columbia will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11:00 am in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. Retired SFC Charles Francis Doughty died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at White Oak Manor after a period of declining health. Born in Columbus, Ohio on March 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Edward K. Doughty and Daisy Hartman. Following his 20 plus years of dedicated service in the US Army, he began a career at the Dorn VA Medical Center where he retired after 21 years as the Chief Dietitian. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucette J. Doughty and daughter, Joan Pruitt. Surviving are daughter, Annick Threatt and her husband Ken, three grandchildren, Richard Dean Pruitt, Tracy Threatt, and Christine Willis, and her husband, Stephen, one great grandchild, Anna. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements.
