Obituary of Callie Stabler

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral service for Callie Stabler, 82, of West Columbia, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Pastor Henry Cooper. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sandy Run. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Stabler, beloved husband of Carolyn Sharpe Stabler, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012. He was the son of the late Clarence Franklin Stabler and Allie Pearl Wolfe Stabler. He retired from Carolina Eastman after 21 years of devoted service. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was passionate about farming and enjoyed yard work. Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Sharpe Stabler; daughter, Patricia Yates (Randy) of Charleston; sons, Cal Stabler and Steven Stabler both of Sandy Run; a grandson, granddaughter and a great-granddaughter; sisters, Mae Johnson of West Columbia and Agnes Boyd of Cayce; brother W.W. Stabler (Mary Lee) of South Congaree; along with a large and loving extended family. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
