Obituary of Martha Hoffman

GASTON-Funeral Services for Martha Jane Hoffman, 78, will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Goudelock will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Hoffman was married to Denver "Joe" Hoffman, Sr. for 60 years. She retired from RJ Reynolds and was active with the Women's Auxiliary Marine Corp League Detachment 1141. Memorials may be made to Harvest Hope Food Pantry 2220 Shop Road Columbia SC 29201. Surviving in addition to her spouse are daughter, Vickie Hoffman Crider (Phil) of West Columbia, SC; sons, Denver "Joey" M. Hoffman, Jr. (Brenda) of West Columbia, SC and David Mark Hoffman (Patti) of Gaston, SC; sister, Ida Joyce Lancaster (Robert) of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Kristi Hornsby (Matthew), Brandy Knight (Stephen) all of Lexington, SC, April Fulwood (Caleb) of West Columbia, SC; great-grandchildren, MJ and Leah Hornsby, Taylor Knight and Caleb Fulwood, Jr. She was predeceased by her father, George W. Summers; mother, Ida P. Pelham; brothers, George W. Summers II and Charles R. Summers; great-granddaughter, Kaleigh Fulwood.
