Obituary of Patricia Wilkes

WEST COLUMBIA—A memorial service for Patricia Ann Wilkes, 75, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Dr. Pete Cassidy will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to God's Helping Hands, 919 Holland Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Wilkes, beloved wife of Robert Wilkes, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Carl J. Witzel and Vera Mamie Perry Witzel-Cox. She was a lifetime area resident and was a member of Riverbanks Zoo and many book clubs. Surviving in addition to her husband, Robert E. Wilkes of West Columbia; daughter, Donna W. Strong (Albert) of Grovetown, GA and her sons, Bo, AJ and Shane; son, Keith R. Wilkes (Stephanie) of Chapin and their daughters, Jennifer and Rachel. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Agape Nursing Center for the excellent care that Mrs. Wilkes received while there. We would also like to thank the nurses on 4th and 5th floor of Lexington Medical Center ICU's for their care and concern.
