Obituary of Mary Boland

LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Boland, 81, of Lexington, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jay Gamelin. Entombment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Ste. 100, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Boland, beloved wife of the late Ronnie Boland, Sr., passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012. Born in North Augusta, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Clarence Collins and Gertrude MacKendree Collins. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where she served on the ladies church circle. She retired from WB Guimarin where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved spending time at the beach and went as often as she could and she also enjoyed decorating her home. Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Peterson (Jim) of Louisville, KY, Brenda Fields of Lexington and Kimberly Delk (Marty) of West Columbia; son, Ronnie Boland, Jr. of Lexington; grandchildren, Mark Estes of Louisville, KY, Casey Wages of Lexington, Addison Delk and Cameron Delk both of West Columbia; sister, Dorothy Nimmons of Columbia; brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Collins, Jr. (Pat) of Chapin and Keith Collins (Ginny) of Florence and her loving pet "Sweetie", along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William "Mac" Collins and husband of 37 years, Ronnie Boland, Sr.
