Obituary of Sadie Caulder

Sadie Hooker Caulder, died Monday, September 3, 2012 surrounded by her children. Born March 6, 1931 to the late Charles and Sadie Hooker, Sadie was married for 57 years to the late Lonnie R. Caulder and they made their loving home in the Olympia Community and Columbia. Sadie was a member of Southside Baptist Church and worked for many years at Western Auto on Rosewood Drive. Sadie lived within a stones throw of Sarge Frye Field and within sight of Williams-Brice Stadium. Sadie was one of seven siblings and was predeceased in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. She is also predeceased by her daughter Judy Capilos. Surviving are her son Charles ?Danny? Caulder and his wife Lynn, son Ronald ?Ronnie? E. Caulder, daughter Sandra Caulder Harrison and her husband L.Z.; sister, Leila Aughtry of Florida. Sadie was blessed with eight grandchildren, Dana Caulder, Tia Dickert Varnadore, Danny Caulder Jr., Gus Capilos, Jr., Loni Griffin, Roni Caulder, April Griffin, and Brittany Harrison Broxton and nine great-grandchildren, Ella Kaye Caulder Shortridge, Loren Maya Hajela, Emma Camille Caulder, Aleigha Faith Capilos, Charles ?Chase? Caulder, Nalin Lee Hajela, Chloe Robin Griffin, Karena Grace Capilos, and Ross Taylor Varnadore. She was awaiting the arrival of two more great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sadie?s honor to the Southside Baptist Church White House Fund, 702 Whaley St., Columbia, SC 29201. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00p.m. Wednesday, September, 5, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home and funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Greenlawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
