Obituary of Catherine Fellers Darby

LEXINGTON: Services for Catherine "Kitty" Fellers Darby, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Glenn Boland, Pastor LaVon Keisler and Pastor Dennis Bolton. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class. The family will be receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 1000 B Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169 or Caris Hospice, 3955 Southeastern Way, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Darby, widow of Carroll "Ladson" Darby, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Born in Richland County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ira Gilbert Fellers and Ida Lee Wessinger Fellers. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Darby was very involved at her church. She was retired from South Carolina DHEC. Survivors are: her daughters, Carol Merchant (Bruce) and Meg Muir of West Columbia; son, Fred Darby of West Columbia; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Donna Darby; sisters, Virginia Harrison and Margaret Walters and brothers, Jack, Buck and Charles Fellers.
