Obituary of Hazel Kolb

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Mr. Hazel Lefoy "H.L." Kolb, 86, will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at West Side Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Clinton B. Lawyer. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 2100 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29169. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia is assisting the family. Mr. Kolb went to be with the Lord, Monday, September 10, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Hazel Fallaw Kolb and Naomi McCombs Kolb. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, where he fought in the Pacific Theater, serving on the USS J. William Ditter Destroyer. Mr. Kolb was retired the U.S. Postal service where he worked as a Distribution Clerk. Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Faircloth Kolb of West Columbia; sons, Michael Curtis Kolb of Spartanburg, Darrell D. Kolb and Thomas M. Kolb of West Columbia; sisters, Margie Eleazer, Louvenia Frye and Joyce Martin (Donald W., Sr., ) all of West Columbia; a number of nieces and nephews and his two loving pets, Miss Kitty and Bugs.
