GILBERT: Funeral service for Joshua Earl Yonce, 29, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church, Lexington, SC., officiated by Rev. Steve Cummins. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethel Colony of Mercy, Inc., 1675 Bethel Colony Road, Lenoir, NC 28645-8212. Mr. Yonce passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Jimmy and Dora Yonce. Josh graduated from Airport High School where he excelled in wrestling. Soon after graduation Josh joined the Marine Corp. After leaving the Marine Corp., he began working as a landscaper because of his love for the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter due to the influence of his father and older brother. He never met a stranger or a stray animal that he didn't want to bring home or help in some way. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington and spoke openly of his faith to anyone that would listen. He overcame many challenges, which at times seemed insurmountable, because in November 2011, he met the love of his life, Anna Williams. They were engaged on August 13, 2012. Josh's love for his family was undeniable and a big priority in his life. He will be missed by many and our love for him will never end. Surviving are his parents, Jimmy and Dora Yonce of Gilbert; brother, Jimmy Yonce, III (Traci); niece, Addison Yonce; nephew, Landon Yonce; grandmother, Katie Yonce all of West Columbia; his fiancé, Anna Key Williams and her sons, William and Robert Walker of Greenwood; aunt, Elaine Bouknight (Stefan) of Irmo; and uncle, George Bradley of West Columbia.
