Obituary of William Gaskin

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for William Crosby "Bill" Gaskin, 76, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Dr. Bill Drees. A private burial will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens. Mr. Gaskin passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late William Andrew Gaskin and Bessie Verna Lown Gaskin Stanley. He was a member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia. He attended schools in Cayce and Johnston, SC. Mr. Gaskin was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed his job in customer service at Wendy's even though he had health issues; he always had a smile for everyone he met. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed caring for a number of pets. Surviving is his loving wife, Ann White Gaskin; a sister, Karen G. Hay (Charles) of Lexington; a brother, Robert A. Gaskin (Sherrey) of Lexington; four nieces and a large and loving extended family.
