Obituary of Lawrence Daniels

Lawrence Beacham ?L.B.? Daniels, 88, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Mr. Daniels served our country in the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Army of the United States and The Army Air Forces. After an extended career with Keebler Company, he retired to pursue his love of fishing and camping. Mr. Daniels was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy ?Dot? Richards Daniels, who was the love of his life. Dot and L.B. celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in January 2012. Mr. Daniels was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Columbia, SC, where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. He was predeceased by his mother, Josie Watts Daniels and his father Lonnie Daniels, both of Lykesland, South Carolina . He is survived by his sister Sarah Daniels Johnson; four children, Diane Daniels, Mary Rogers (Paul), Alan Daniels (Meg) and Larry Daniels; grandchildren, Gaye Burks, Vicki Benson, Mark Rogers, Shauna, Erin, and Jared Daniels; 9 great-grandchildren, Forrest, Hunter, and Kelli Burks, Davis and Mahalie Benson, Pax, Sydney, Eden, and Benjamin Rogers, and a number of nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29290. The celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The interment and military honors will be in the family plot at Kelly Cemetery, 1500 Kathwood Rd, Columbia, SC 29206. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Longridge, PO.
