Obituary of Willa Eichost

A graveside service celebrating the life of Willa Jean Putnam Eichost, 77, of Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens with Reverend Joe Copeland officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home. On-line condolences may be sent to www.greenlawn-columbia.com. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mrs. Eichost departed this earthly life at her residence on Friday, September 28, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Harland Durant Putnam and Ruth Towne McAbee. Those left to cherish her precious memories are her husband of 57 years, Daniel James Eichost, Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Eichost Lamar and Bobby Lamar; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel James Eichost, Jr. and Dayle Eichost; three step-grandchildren, Todd Lamar (Rhonda), Paige Lamar Knapper (Chris), and Chad Lamar; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, McKenzie, Garrett, Hailey, and Brent; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. A special thanks and appreciation is extended to the Hospice Care of Tri-County, Judy with Home Instead, and Dr. McElveen & Kim Dewitt at South Carolina Oncology and Associates (SCOA) for their care during the illness and passing of our loved one, the late Willa J. Eichost.
