Obituary of Odell Vaughn

WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Odell Jesse Vaughn, 87, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Reverend Byron E. Powers. A private interment will be held at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elmwood Avenue Church of God, 1427 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201 or to the charity of one's choice. Mr. Vaughn passed away Sunday September 30, 2012. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Zebulon V. Vaughn and Talulla Sullivan Vaughn. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII; and he attended Elmwood Avenue Church of God. Survivors include; his daughter, Jennifer Twachtman of Columbia; sisters, Daisy V. DuBose and Iva Lee V. Quinton both of Columbia; also three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by three children, two brothers, five sisters and one grandson.
