Obituary of Sarah Corley Ashley

EUGENIA CORLEY ASHLEY WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral services for Sarah "Eugenia" Corley Ashley, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, and officiated by Reverend Tim Rogers. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family received friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Mt Hebron United Methodist Church, 3050 Leaphart Rd, West Columbia, SC 29169. Mrs. Ashley, widow of LeRoy Thomas Ashley, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Born in West Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Eddie R. Corley and Susan H. Corley. She was a dedicated RN and retired from Pediatric Associates in Columbia. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ashley was a member of Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class and Young at Heart. Eugenia was a selfless, compassionate and generous soul who always had a kind word and a smile for everyone that crossed her path. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will live in the hearts of those she touched forever. Surviving are son, Thomas Ashley of West Columbia; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Ken Ashe of Canyon Lake, TX, Arlene and Scotty Boyd of Goose Creek; sisters-in-law, Lida Corley of Blythewood and Doris Ashley of Irmo; five grand-daughters and spouses, Misti and Brendan Thurber, Courtney Ashley, Adriane and Jason Costello, Jaclyn Ashe, and Lindsey Ashley and Aaron LePine; grand-son Austin Boyd; four great-grandchildren, Cade Stocker, Aislinn and Colin Costello, and Liberty LePine.
