Obituary of Ann Greene

WEST COLUMBIA: Memorial service for Ann Lou Greene, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Reverend Yu-Fong Chong. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Hospice Home, 141 Stoneridge Dr., Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Greene, widow of Walter A. Greene, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012. Born in Sumter County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Albert Luke Baker and Mary Hazel Robertson Baker. Formerly of Auburn, CA, she was a retired hairdresser from Walnut Creek, CA. Mrs. Greene was a member of the Lions Club, and the Combie Bible Church, Auburn, CA. She loved playing golf with the Niners Golf Group. Survivors include: her daughter, Irene Weiner (Stuart) of Castro Valley, CA; sisters, Janie Holland of Bishopville, SC, Betty Smith of Gaston, SC and Marie Hasty of West Columbia, SC; brothers, Leonard Baker of Lugoff, SC and David Baker of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Allison Weiner of New York, NY and Sarah Weiner of Castro Valley, CA. Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Greene, and her brothers, Albert Baker and Hazel Baker.
