Obituary of Angelo Ranucci

Memorial services for Angelo ?Al? Ranucci, 89, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church. A visitation service will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home located at 845 Leesburg Rd. Columbia, SC 29209. Greenlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Ranucci passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Born October 1, 1923, in Cranston, RI, he was a son of the late Angelo and Rose Ranucci. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed in sales, working for the J B White Co. and retired from Big Lots June, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Inez Thompson Ranucci of the home; his daughter, Mary Kay Ranucci, his son, Michael Anthony ?Tony? Ranucci, Sr., grandchildren, Michael Anthony Ranucci, Jr. of Columbia, Michael Paul Ranucci, USMC, and Tressa Rose Ranucci of Summerville; sisters, Mary Rotondo, Jenny Caldamone and Anna Vento all of Rhode Island. He was predeceased by brothers, Anthony and Sam Ranucci and sister, Connie Ranucci. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family extends a very special thank you to his medical team, Dr. Melton R. Stuckey, Dr. Mark Orlandini, Dr. Abdul B. Usmani and staff of Providence Hospital, and Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital.
