Obituary of Sarah Morrison

Funeral service for Sarah Clarisse Morrison, 90, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, in the Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Tom S. Glenn. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel. Interment will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, in the New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery, McClellanville, SC. Greenlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Morrison passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 22, 2012. Born on November 20, 1921, in Scotia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Leila and Heidt DeLoache. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, David Macnab Morrison, a daughter, Sarah Patricia Morrison, and a sister, Belva Ayotte. Mrs. Morrison attended Columbia College where she majored in elementary education. She taught school for 25 years. She was a member of Shandon Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Morrison had a great devotion to her faith in God and her church. Her love and devotion to her family were her greatest gifts. Her children and grandchildren brought her the most joy in life. She loved music, family gatherings, and cherished her friends and cats. Survivors include: her two daughters, Mary Janice Morrison and Elizabeth Anne Morrison Scott (Gary) of Columbia; four grandchildren, Matthew Morrison Smith of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer McKenzie Scott of Columbia, Richard Sloan (Jenni) of Winter Park, FL and Sarah Patricia Holston of Princeton, WV; four great grandchildren, Mason Richard Sloan, Victoria Cheyenne Robertson, Nora Addison Sloan and Isabella Autumn Holston. Memorials may be made to Shandon Presbyterian Church, Pastors Fund, 607 Woodrow St., Columbia, SC 29205.
