Obituary of James Ball

Funeral services for devoted husband and father, James Kenneth Ball, Sr., 75, of Columbia will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209, with Reverend Dennis Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 1028 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Ball passed peacefully into eternal life November 3, 2012. Born October 12, 1937, he was the son of the late J.H. and Annie Laura Ball of Spartanburg, SC. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Louise M. Ball; his devoted and loving son, James Kenneth Ball, Jr.; his granddaughter, Samyriah Louise Ball and a host of other loving relatives. Mr. Ball was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Louise "Sam" Ball in 2009. A native of Spartanburg, Mr. Ball was a graduate of Wofford College, and attended the University of South Carolina graduate school. Mr. Ball owned Action Tax Service, where he worked for 30 years and was successful in the real estate business. He will be deeply and sadly missed.
