Obituary of Terry Forkasdi

GASTON—A memorial service for Terry Nance Forkasdi, 58, of Gaston, will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at City of Hope Worship Center, 1403 D Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29169. Officiating will be Bishop Neal Nolan and Bishop Mark Crumpton. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 p.m. prior the service at the church. Honorary Ushers will be Tripp Epps, Jason Epps, Ben Springs, Steven Springs, Teno Gaites and Jed Causey. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Memorials may be made in Terry's honor to the American Diabetes Association of South Carolina, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Mr. Forkasdi, beloved husband of Teresa Forkasdi, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012. Born in Florence, SC, he was the son of the late Steve and Alma Friar Forkasdi. He was a graduate of Roy Hudgens Academy where he played football, baseball and basketball. He has been a lifelong Clemson Fan and enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid sports fan. He was a loving and kind father, husband and brother; he will be dearly missed by all. Surviving are his wife, Teresa Forkasdi of Gaston; daughters, Kelcy Wiles of Gaston and Kayla Smith of Lexington; sons, Brandon Smith of Gaston and Chance Forkasdi of Florence; granddaughter, Savannah Smith; sister, Helen "Peanut" Springs (Claude) of Camden; brothers, Stevie Forkasdi (Molly) of Alaska and Danny Forkasdi (Dorothy) of Florida; and his beloved dog, Buffy.
