Obituary of Hans Doberass

Funeral services for Hans U. (John) Doberass of West Columbia will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2:00pm in Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Visitation will be from 12pm until the hour of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will also be receiving friends at their home 901 Rutland Avenue, West Columbia, SC. Born May 12, 1946 in Giessen, Germany, he is the son of the late Marie Elisabeth Doberass Givens. Mr. Doberass served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Connie M. Doberass of the home; son, Mike Doberass of Lexington; daughter, Roberta Leonard of Ohio; step-daughters, Kathy (Dean) Brewer of Oregon and Angie (Bill) Keller of West Columbia; grandchildren, Alissa Long, Jordan and Savannah Hoard, and Max Brewer; sisters, Rosemary (Rick) Veillette of Florida and Debbie (Rickey) Brannan of Lexington; brothers-in law, Don Monts and John (Anita) Monts; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he is predeceased by his step-father, Leonard Givens and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George & Laura Monts.
