Obituary of Carter Jordan

A funeral service celebrating the life of Carter H. Jordan, 84, of Elgin who passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Spring Valley Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Robert Winburn. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Elgin, SC. Carter was born in Anderson, SC to the late Thomas and Nettie Jordan. Carter grew up in Inman, SC. He was a Sales Representative during his career. He served as deacon, choir member, Sunday school teacher, and involved in other roles at Spring Valley Baptist Church. Carter loved his family, church, and friends. Carter is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary (Sue) Jordan; a daughter, Laurie Narboni (Edmond); a son, Jeff Jordan; two grandchildren, Julian and Chloe Narboni; a sister, Judy Wilson; niece, nephews, a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Carter was predeceased by his son, Michael Jordan and a brother, Major Jordan. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to Kaye James, Tyronda, and Sue of hospice and also the staff of Gentiva. Donations can be made to SVBC Youth Building Fund in Carter?s memory.
