Obituary of Bobby Jones

Bobby Lee Jones Died Monday, November 26, 2012. Born in Griffin, GA, January 6, 1932, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Velma Stewart Jones. Mr. Jones was a retired Army Veteran with 21 years of service. He retired again after 17 years with the Postal Service as Fleet Manager. Bob had spent a number of years working with Greenlawn Funeral Home along with Caughman Harmon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Pastor Clay Smith will officiate. Surviving is his loving wife, Barbara Oliver Jones; daughters, Rebecca Trude Smolinski (Marc) of Charleston, Melanie Ann Jones (Brad) of Charleston and Vickie Lynn Jones of Columbia; one sister, Linda Covert of Greensboro, NC; granddaughter, Shannon Trude; grandson, Brandon DeSplinter (Lauren) and great granddaughters, Alexa Whittington and Ansley DeSplinter all of Columbia; also a number of nieces and nephews.
