Mr. King died Saturday, December 1, 2012. Born in Florence, SC, he was the son of the late John Henry King, Sr. and Kathleen Cox King. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, enjoyed a long-time career with and retired from the South Carolina State Law Enforcement (Protective Services) Division (SLED), and was a member of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. In addition, Mr. King was a firefighter for the City of Orangeburg for several years. He loved simple pleasures; camping, fishing, hunting and the USC Gamecocks. He followed all of USC's sporting events. He enjoyed impersonating Elvis Presley, and had done this for many years, since he was a child. Every Christmas, he purchased the latest Elvis album. Most of all, he loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and he was very proud of his bike. Mr. King was much loved and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his niece, Carmen King-Fisher; nephew, John Henry King, III; and great-nephews, Ethan Henry King and Vance Brandon King. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Henry King, Jr.
