Obituary of Lawrence Lorick

Funeral services for Lawrence Thomas Lorick, Jr., 82, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Trey Pruitt. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29201, American Cancer Society ,128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or Hope Baptist Church, 2117 Clemson Road, Columbia, SC 29229. Mr. Lorick passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. Born in Irmo, SC, he was a son of the late Lawrence T. Lorick, Sr. and Clara Ethel Halligan Lorick. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force following his high school days. Mr. Lorick spent 38 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad. He later spent 15 years working with the S.C. Heart Center. Mr. Lorick was a dedicated member of the Hope Baptist Church of Columbia. His other activities included membership in the V.F.W., the American Legion, and was also a mason with the Dentsville Masonic Lodge #398. Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Frances "Betty" Lorick; his son, Lawrence Thomas "Larry" Lorick, III; a sister, Pearl Ross; and three grandchildren, Jeffery, Lauren, and Heath Lorick. Mr. Lorick was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Viola Neal and Ellie Shealy and a brother, Hugh T. Lorick.
